Large solar panels require freight delivery. This fee is common across all large panel distributors, not just Santan solar. The shipping price will be determined by how far you live from the warehouse. Some people are saying they are getting better shipping with santan, others with signature solar etc. Neither one is trying to "rip you off". You just live further from the warehouse than the other one. I figured this was implied, but I have been seeing people complaining about the shipping price. These are standard rates. Nothing new or special about them. If you can pick them up by driving to Arizona, do that instead. They have 22000 in stock
On my way...
@Dean Koch any chance for more info? Link or where you got them, most around me are $900 each 200w-400w new
Cool video man. I got some in New Mexico for $50 each. They are 270 watts and are made in Canada. They even had $40 dollar panels also at 200 watts.
@D.E 303- A new, low cost, home buildable, solar electric concentrator. or have someone do it for you.
yup, i just go ahead and drive 2k miles anytime i want to...
I would like to make a basketball court outta them solar panels!
Where do you buy them from
Yep... giving a bi-facial on two women usually costs an extra $50.
How does the DIY install affect the expensive battery's warranty?
High value information !
Building a cheap metal frame to hold these in a field would be the move. I made a mobile rack for mine that holds 4 of them bad boys. I am not a welder so I had to Jimmy rig up a fair bit of it but if you can weld and not an incompetent twat like me when it comes to tools then you can do a lot of cool things here
You may have trouble with water after a rain seeping in to the panels. Also high winds will blow them all away. Best tie them down.
Do with your old solar panels that you take down do you sell them or repurpose them I'm waiting on my disability but I like to live only on solar so I'm trying to find out which ones I could get for the cheapest price
Can you explain if there is a difference between panels for grid tie vs offgrid? I ask because reading on santansolar they say these panels have had stickers removes and would need to be for offgrid only. I'm ok with this, but just curious if there's a difference, or if it's only because the stickers are not there. Thanks
Great video. Ty vm
Your losing a lot by having the cables run along the ground put them up in the air it’ll be a lot higher
Would six of these be able to power everything inside an RV?
polly panel’s 😑
Title ??? Shipping? Share $$$
Random panels just face down on the stones is stressing me out... Cool stuff though and great links
Alright I’m an idiot when it comes to electricity but let’s say I mine with about 1000w would these cover that cost?
Can u plz elaborate or provide on that last said 'Automatic switch', (my 1tin 5star Air conditioner is connected to 2kva solar inverter with 2x159ah lead-acid c10 batteries).
I just took a screen shot of you info. 🤙
If u have big free Land ,on prob. 400w new panel is 100 USD
I wonder if these panels can be used for an RV
thats not alot of power you wired them wrong.. each panel should put out 5-8 amps each your getting 9 amps for 5 panels you should be getting 30 amps per string so 90 amps for 3 of them what you need to do is rewire them 3 pannels to get the voltage within specs the other 3 on string 1 parrallel and do the same youll get 15 -20 amps per string that way.. if you only want to use one mppt controller but if you had 3 mppts you could then get all 90 amps also your angles need to be more..and use cell phone tower batts or edision batts they last 25 years.. edisons are 1.2 volts and huge but tower batts are designed for continual discharge deep cycle there expensive though
A big part of the cost is the rate of degradation the panel has. For example the LG neons have less than 0.5% per year, with 90% guaranteed at 25 years. Cheap panels don't even publish this because they suck and won't put out much in a few years of use. Like basically everything else in life, you get what you pay for.
how would this do with btc mining? if you run 10 miners each running 3250w would these panels alone suffice?
Do they ship to Canada
What's the name of the company that selling these and when you send that send the shipping company information as well I'm very interested in buying a pilot of these solar panels thank you for putting out this video just happen to cross it great information thanks!
Hi will, just wondering if you have a similar contact for used panels in Canada as this company doesn't seem to ship to Canada. Thank you Thank for all the great videos!
Are you off grid because you have alot of power
That shipping tho. Damn.
When the solar charger can the 4000 or 5000 watt does the battery has to be the same amount?
Turn them into lawn chair Russian dolls on wheels. And you can roll them out like gym equipment to charge and back in at night. Hell youll get a free workout so you could probably sell the gym equipment too.
Panel at great price, the shipping makes them to expensive.
Where is contact info to buy these panels? JR
Just bought your book, sirchacho. Ready to start building!
They're really not cheap at all when you factor in the shipping costs. You only benefit from the advertised price if you live in Arizona and able to pick them up in person from their warehouse. The further away from Arizona you are the more you will pay for shipping. If you are anywhere in the eastern U.S. you're better off looking elsewhere.
God for that price - it is ridiculous. 4hrs to earn 40cents per Panel.... Won't take long to get $50 back!
Well I stumbled across your video and got really excited only to find out this company like so many others will not ship to Alaska.
Now to find a great guy to help out we senior single women
Can these panels be used overseas/in another country ? Or is just good for off grid ?
I think you can make a post on the backyard and put the solar on top. Underneath it, you can have garden or a shade for outdoor purposes like bbq. Putting on the ground on the driveway is just too ugly and wasted space.
Those cheap panels will be burned up after about a couple years in the Sun and start getting cracked cells and stained cells from overheating🤔
Stuff like this is not bad if it is close to you. I live in Michigan and the shiping is insane. I ended up geting $4,300 worth of panels affter shipping for 50 panels at 235w per panel that turns out to be like $86 per panel shipped to my house and it 11+ kW of solar
Where do you get them. I want a dozen.
Solar panels get hot and burn birds feet! Stop using them now!
Solar Panels contribute to climate change! Everyone stop using them! Save the planet!
Can I use one that high in Watts for a GoLabs r300?
Are these used panels?
My next question? Where Do You Get The Solor Panels from
I recently had 6.6kW professionally installed, but I have a 1.5kW system consisting of 6 panels still up there on the roof from 20 years ago, still giving me aboud 1.3kW on a good day. However, I'd like to replace them myself, since pretty much everything has been done, and I'm thinking of getting oversize panels up to 450kW or more if I can, and fit them myself, to bump the total system up to close to 10kW.
Will’s daily workout plan for keeping in shape: Move solar panels Rip open batteries Curl battery packs Wipe on wipe off solar panel dust Run cable back and forth
After this video I’m definitely getting these. But now I’m unsure whether I should build a 24 or 48 system. Do you do consults?
Hi, I am a Beginner and I want to to tell me what should I do and what I want for 16 200w 12v solar panels I don’t know how to manage all that power Could you help me please?
Santan Solar has the best deals on good panels. And great prices on new as well. I will be going through the Phoenix are soon and plan on buying as many as I can put in my van to give to people at the next van build.
These are practically cheaper than osb boards
Dang dude I never even thought about getting used panels. I plan to do my own system on my house, but cost is the biggest thing stopping it from happening. Buying used would get my system up and runner faster. I can swap em out with new ones as they fail
If I wanted to do this to try and run my home, 2000 sq feet single level, one residential refrigerator one larger window AC. How many batteries do you think I would need and cost and how much is the solar controller you are using?
Great, but how do you get power from them? Got a guide on that?
Is there any other shipping option? Thats outrageous. I want two panels. Both were $110.00 +$252.00 s&h 😵💵 Looks like im stuck using my supposed 150w output Dokio. 😁🤔 And uhhhh for the record you challenged me to find a better price....00:00:21:00 now i challange you to Mortal Kombat!
Wow. Thanks. Great video. Where can I buy these solar panels ?
Would this be too much for a 300watt GoLabs Generator?
On the santan solar website Why does it say for Off Grid Application only?
Is there a reason why the website asks that they be used for off grid applications? So grid tie in is a no go?
This guy reminds me of Rick Moranis in ghost busters the scene where he keeps talking and never stops lol
I admit at first glance I wondered how a solar panel could be bi-racial.
How are you my friend, can I get your WhatsApp number?
I'm going to use these for my titan solar generator!
Great videos. What do you recommend for batteries? Currently use a simple 100 AH lead acid + external MPPT and want to replace with some lithium ones but with cheap massive storage. Any tips ? Thanks Will.
Is this guy sponsored by this company?
I am on zero contracts and not receiving sponsorship funds from any company. I make my money with their affiliate programs which I choose. Watch my older videos to learn why. I hate sponsorship deals and only had one, years ago
How do I purchase these in Canada?
The moldy sardine philly spark because bow pathogenetically measure under a tough point. pointless, healthy soil
Can I use these for van life? I'm so broke right now and need a way out of a bad situation and power is a big deal for me and I just don't have it to spend for other stuff I've seen
Check out leadfarmer73.. he’s got a setup for under $300 to power handheld devices
Ordered my first pallet of 25, thanks for the great research and guidance Will!
I'm looking to run a small chest freezer, small efficiency fridge, tv, dvd, fan, computer tower, and electric radiator heater, and A/C - all off grid in a mobile unit. I was thinking multiple 400 watt systems. Do you have any suggestions? 20-30ft trailer I had success with fridge, fan, and DVD on a 400 watt 30amp 12volt system. The trick to not draining my batteries was a mechanical timer outlet. I ran the fridge for 15 minutes every hour during the daylight and once or twice during the night. It worked perfectly for over 8 months till my cheap fleet farm charge controller fried.
Actually those panels presented are dirt expensive. You can buy factory new panels for less. May not in the US but anywhere else.
Shipping was about $250 for them, I felt so hurt after seeing that...
The shipping to my house is over $400. I share your pain.
Thanks for the video Will. Can you please tell me the make and model of the two buss bars (one black, one red) under your charge controller / inverter? Thank you.
Help me I need solar system good beware 50000kwh
DOES IT MATTER THE TYPE OF CONCRETE BRICK YOU USE TO CREATE THAT ANGLE OR DID YOU DO THE MATH TO CREATE THE PROPER TILT? I WAS BLESSED WITH ENOUGH PANELS TO TAKE ME OFF THE GRID AND I WANT TO DO IT IMMEDIATELY! I AM A RENTER AND WAS TRYING TO DECIDE THE CHEAPEST NON-PERMANENT INSTALLATION PROJECT. THIS LAYOUT WOULD BE PERFECT FOR ME BUT DOES IT MATTER THAT YOU ARE ON CONCRETE? I HAVE A PERFECT SOUTHERN YARD PLENTY LARGE ENOUGH TO ACCOMODATE 12 X 325 W PANELS BY SUNIVA (OPT325-72-4-100). HOWEVER MY YARD IS GRASS THAT I'LL GLADLY GET RID OF FOR THE PANELS. WILL THE GRASS CAUSE DEGRADATION, SHOULD I COVER IT WITH LANDSCAPING FABRIC? I AM IN A HURRY TO HAVE MY PANELS GENERATING POWER BEFORE ITS EVER HOOKED UP TO THE GRID. I CAN'T EVEN AFFORD A GRID CONNECTION. SO I'LL BE HAPPY WITH TAKING SOME OF MY ELECTRIC USE OFF THE GRID. HERE I WAS WORRIED ABOUT HOW IN THE WORLD I WAS GOING TO AFFORD THE MOUNTING HARDWARE AND YET THIS BRICK IDEA IS SO SIMPLE ITS INGENIOUS. SO GLAD I STUMBLED UPON YOU. NEW SUBBIE 4LIFE! ♥
How can I add these to a schoolie conversation all 16 panels
What company you bought them from
So, I had a solar install company quote me 30x 320W panels, inverters, install etc 43k so I’m obviously interested in something else. If I’m buying a used 200W panel I would need roughly 1.5 panels to meet my energy demand if the states output was correct. If i accounted for degradation I would probably need 2x panels. So 60? Also what is life span of these panels roughly?
If they are used how do you know the lifespan of these? Could they be at the end of their lifecycle?
I'm ordering your book too thanks
I've learned a bunch just watching your channel thank you
Can I use these in my 12 volt system??
Thank you for posting! I'm totally going to get a few of these!
Coupon Code for SanTan Solar?
I went to the website in the link provided I added 2 solar panels in my cart but when I was about to checkout they wanted $100 each for shipping just to ship to Texas. The total came out to be $310 for 2 solar panels, I backed off.
$350 shipping. lmao
How many solar panels come in a pallet?
You pay for what you get.
Will, first off much, MUCH love for the information you give on your channel and sites. It's pretty intense and hella valuable. Could these panels be used in a mobile setup? I noticed on the site it says for off grid use and just wasn't sure what that meant.
If I missed this or it is not allowed, please disregard. I want to order four of the 4 of the $50 panels. I have read and watched so many videos and want to take the plunge now. Can you provide a list of everything else that is needed to order to set up an off grid source of power for these panels? Every time I get ready to order everything I back out and doubt myself. Can you help? PLEASE
Oh, I just saw your list of components for 400 watts. Looks great! Thank you for putting this together.
Very cool. I'm amazed that used solar panels are so easily available. One would think that the panels would be shot for someone to get rid of them. I don't have the tech. know how to do this and would need an electrician to set it up plus permits. I've always seen panel prices as not attainable. This could be a true game changer. I'm also assuming that they are easy to swap out when needed.
Just put 1/2" plywood under them and it would insulate a bit, no?
Still just a hobby for most. Look at like this === this setup he's rigged together is capable of throwing 30amps maybe 6 to 8 hours of perfect days. Your house most likely has a 200 amp main, with another 100 amp main if you have a well and a big separate garage, or a pool. This setup he's got == also include $1,500 inverter, $2,000 in batteries=== and you'll have just enough to power your well pump and maybe an ice chest 24/7. Hope that helps ;). p.s. even good batteries barely make it past a decade. Same with high power inverters.
The depressed column expectantly disagree because ravioli dentsply jail alongside a puzzled group. nonstop, quack bumper
Bought a few of these panels for my Titan, thanks Will!
I'm one state away - Shipping fee 4 cost 275 8 cost 310 16 cost 340 25 cost 355 They're 24 volt panels also.
50 for the panel only 400 in shipping; what a bargain!
